July 2010:
We had the King's award parade and party this month. Many thanks to all who supported us. I have uploaded some more photographs to Flickr. If you click on "all sizes" then you can select which size photograph to download.
June 2010:
I rebuilt the webserver during the last few weeks of May, because XP was just not good enough for the job. Now we are upgraded to Server 2008. The hard disk crashed even before things were stabilised and I had no back up, yet, except I could boot up from the old XP system which was on another disk. Then I installed a new hard disk and re-installed Server 2008 again.
On top of that, the ADSL line went down twice in May, for several days each time. So, sorry for the various interruptions to the webcam system, but I really hope to carry on improving the service. Also, right now the upload speed of ADSL is only 500K, compared to the download speed which is 4MB. Each camera feed uses about 60K upload bandwidth, but we get several parents viewing at a time, so things slow down a bit.
May 2010:
We received notice that we have been successful in our application for the King's award. More to come on this.
April 2010:
Happy New Year. Posted some more photos to the Flickr website.
Feb 2010:
The webcam system software has been updated and the server is becoming more stable. I'm continuing to find the problems, and solving them: hopefully improving the service.
I have developed the Flickr Photostream so that most of the older photographs from various shows and events are available. Please feel free to download them as you wish.
Jan 2010: King's Award
You may have noticed that the school has looked more beautiful than ever, over the last few months. All of the staff have been working very hard for more than 1 year to prepare for this month's visit (Jan 2010), when we hope to impress our government visitors with our achievements over the last 5 years, and have a good opportunity to be honoured with the King's award.
Jan 2010: Webcam
The webcam system has been quite unreliable in the past, and I have recently spent many long nights trying to improve it.
This is what has been happening:
1. Fiber optic network improvements
2. New webcam server software version, with Flash (less bandwidth requirements)
3. New firmware in the IP cameras
4. New cameras (the old one's were first generation and not reliable)
5. I intend to continue to improve the camera quality over time.
6. Right now, there are more than 20 cameras, some of which are not shown on the web-site (security reasons).
